Crowdsourcing and digital engagement

The Place

Perth City Link will reconnect the CBD with Northbridge for the first time in 100 years. City Square will be its crowning feature – set to become one of Perth's top public destinations.

Our Role

We wanted real, authentic engagement with the people of Perth to inform Place Planning for City Square. Place Match pioneered a digital crowd sourced community engagement program for the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority to enable a deeper understanding of what Perth people would like to see and do in the space.

Outcomes

The interactive website enabled people to locate key attractions and destinations such as cafes, play spaces and other key features in situ at City Square. Launched by the Premier in November 2012, it generated over 2,000 unique ideas for City Square which Place Match and MRA will utilise in Place Planning and Activation.
